A Goddess Braids Hairstyle – Hair Braiding

Goddess Braids StyleA Goddess Braids Hairstyle – Hair Braiding

When it comes to choosing a hair weave that can add length to your hair, consider using goddess braids to create the look and length you desire.  Goddess braids are a great option in which long hair extensions are applied to the hair and then braided into a warrior/goddess braid.

Goddess braids are a take off of traditional cornrow braids.  They are basically oversized cornrows.  To create a goddess braid hairstyle it is best to use synthetic hair instead of real hair as the goddess braid takes a significant amount of hair and would be cost prohibitive using real hair.  To achieve the goddess braid, have your hairstylist begin by dividing your hair into sections and then take the first section and start to braid over handed.  Your stylist will add new pieces of synthetic hair every so often to create the desired volume in the cornrow.  Goddess braids are also a great way to not only add amazing volume to your hair but they also work to add amazing length.  Because you are having your hair braided and adding lengths of synthetic hair every so often you can add the synthetic hair at the end of the braid to continue the length.

Goddess Hair BraidsThe key to goddess braids is to adopt the style and make it your own.  There are many options you can adopt from the goddess braid look.  You can pin the braid at the nape of the neck into a long loop.  You can add beautiful flowers or sparkling jeweled hair pins.  Experiment with different hair accessories to create and find the look that works best for you.  Goddess hair braids are wonderful in that they can be dressed up with beautiful hair accessories or they can be dressed down depending on the look you want.

Goddess braids are a fun way to change your hairstyle.  They are fun and funky, sleek and elegant.  It all depends on your preference for styling them.  Have fun with this look and make it your own.

Hair braiding is not only a fantastic hairstyle for women but it is a great hairstyle for men too.  Men are taking advantage of having their hair braided these days more than ever.  Hair braids once in are an easily maintained hairstyle that is perfect for a man on the go.  Hair braids require minimum maintenance and therefore are a highly desired style for many men.

One of the most popular hair braid styles for men today are cornrows.  Cornrows are a traditional style of braiding the hair close to the scalp.  What was once done in traditional straight rows, cornrows today are often done in complex geometric patters, and curved designs.  Men often like to put beads at the end of the rows for a little added design.

Once your braids are in be sure to use a braid spray daily to keep your hair moisturized.  Moisturizing your hair and scalp will help ensure your braids look as good as possible and that they will not damage your hair.

Braids Are A Great Summer Hairstyle

Braids are popular to have for girls but during the summer months, having braids makes it easier to have long hair. The humidity in the summer can make it hard to style your hair along with the heat; it makes most women wanting to get a shorter hairstyle for the summer. Braids not only help to cool your head down but also help to keep your hair out from your face. The one problem that braids can cause is that they tend to dry the hair and also the scalp. It is important to properly take care of your braids so that your hair does not become too dry and to help keep your scalp from becoming dry as well.

There are a few things you can do to help your hair before you get braids. You will want to have a deep moisture treatment before getting the braids done, as this will keep your hair moist during the process. Some salons will use a deep conditioning treatment throughout the hair with oil or cream based conditioners. Leaving the conditioner in the hair for an extended period of time will help with the process.

Having your hair braided tight or getting micro braids can deplete the hair from the natural moisture that helps the hair thrive. By depleting this natural moisture, it can lead to having damaged hair. Breakage in the hair can be fixed over time but having braids makes it harder for your hair to fix itself as the braids are the cause of the breakage. Conditioners are the most important part of having braids as they will help keep your hair moist, while you have the braids.

The sun, chlorine in pools or salt within the ocean are other ways that can contribute to your hair being too dry. It’s important to try and stay away from chlorine or salts while you have braids in your hair.

If you have questions about having braids during the summer, then please “Ask The Hairstylist” your question and we will post the response here.
