There are many different unique hairstyles out there these days but the Faux Hawk is one hairstyle that is really different. Faux hawks are not normally a girl’s hairstyle as much as it is for men. You will have a hard time finding a girl with this type of hairstyle since its normally done with shorter hair. The faux hawk hairstyle starts in the middle of the head and needs some type of product such as mouse, gel or pomade. Hairspray would be difficult to style your hair if it dries too fast. The best thing to do is start with a flat iron if your hair is not straight enough and add product. If you need to use a flat iron you can also use hairspray as the flat iron will style the faux hawk right away.

A flat iron is not normally used on guy’s hair as their hair is normally shorter than a girl’s hair. It also might be difficult to straighten short hair, especially for a guy who is not used to the whole idea of a flat iron. The faux hawk hairstyle is becoming a more popular hairstyle as time goes by and can be done regardless of your hair type and texture as long as you have the right tools.
