Japanese Hairstyles and Haircuts
Japanese Hairstyles
Most of the Japanese hairstyles we see today are similar to any other haircut or style. The Japanese hairstyles are similar to the bob cuts, pixie cuts, long hair, short hair and even curly styles of today. The traditional Japanese women have very long black hair that is pulled up into a bun near the top of their head and held into place by bobby pins and include real flowers and other head dress items. It used to be forbidden for Japanese women to come out of their bedrooms with their hair worn down but now you will see many different Japanese hairstyles as times have changed.
Even in Japan women are adapting to the Western hairstyles and unique fashions. Most of these trends are caused by the celebrities they see on TV who have certain hairstyles and they only want to mimic what is popular and trendy. Its only natural that a culture adapts to what influences them, such as celebrities they see all of the time who have certain hairstyles and haircuts. The only traditional Japanese hairstyles you will see today are from the elderly Japanese who have yet to conform to an ever changing world.
The Japanese men have always kept with the shaggy hair look and the only different in hairstyle over the years has been the added color. Many Japanese men have started bleaching their hair blonde or adding streaks of red or other colors to it, since they all have black hair, it’s a nice change.
Japanese haircuts do not differ very much from the average hairstyle that you see around you, as they are changing with the fashion trends.
