Are you thinking about getting a hair weave but unsure about the maintenance that accompanies such hairstyles?  Hair weaves (extensions) are a great way to change your hair style without the wait.  Hair weaves add length and volume to your hair and are a fun, sassy way to get a new look and can be done with real or synthetic hair.  Weaving is done when you take hair extensions and have them braided or sewn into your existing hair.  They can also be applied using a special type of glue or wax.

With that being said lets look at the maintenance involved with such a hairstyle.  The average hair weave lasts about two months but the length of time really depends on how well it was put in, if the hair weave is real or synthetic hair and how well you care for it after the weave has been put in.  If your weave was done with real hair you will need to wash your hair regularly as this will help keep the hair weave looking natural and keep it from appearing ‘fake”.  Synthetic hair does not need to be washed as often as natural hair, as synthetic hair may become frizzy with too many hair washings.

It is very important to condition your hair weave to ensure that your natural hair does not become brittle and dry.  Conditioning your hair weave regularly will help keep your natural hair from breaking and becoming damaged while wearing a hair weave.  Hair weave hairstyles can provide a fun new look with out having to wait for your natural hair to grow.  With a little maintenance hair weaves are a great way to change your look with minimal effort.
