Ways To Put Your Hair Up – Hair Up Dos

ponytail hair up do styleWays To Put Your Hair Up – Hair Up Dos

There are many reasons why girls put their hair up: to keep their hair out of their face, they ran out of time to style it, to look nice or have a formal hair style such as, a wedding, prom or dance hairstyle. There are a few hair up dos you can do from home.

  • The classic ponytail is the most popular style to put your hair up. The main reason for this style is to keep the hair out of the girls face, for sports or because she does not want to mess with styling her hair right then. It is easy to do, by sweeping all of your hair to the back of your head as high on your head as you want and then securing it in place with an elastic band of some type.
  • A loose bun is not as popular but it’s a hairstyle women tend to wear when they are in the mood to relax. All you do is put your hair up in a ponytail like before but twist it into a loose bun and add a head band to have your casual, relaxed hairstyle.
  • The last style would be a more formal hair updo. Usually this is done with help from a professional stylist, a friend or family member and sometimes takes longer to finish. You pull your hair back and put a bump in your hair on the top of the head, while sweeping it back into a clip. You will have to use some kind of product such as, hairspray to hold this style in place. There are accessories you can buy such as ‘Bump-its’ to help keep your hair in place.

Another style would be to add to the existing ponytail by adding the French braid, which is like the normal braid but only starting at the top of your head.

Hair Updos – Short Hair Updos For Prom

Posted by Hair Styles

short hair updo style for promWith medium hair an updo can be accomplished rather easily.  It may be difficult to accomplish if your hair has many short layers, however it is still easier to accomplish than with short hair.  There are several types of updos that can be done with medium length hair. It is best to know your hair type to help determine which style will work best for you.  Once you have figured out your hair type, straight, curly, wavy, thick, coarse, smooth etc. you can begin pulling your hair up.

One style that looks great with medium length hair is a French twist.  To achieve this look take your hair and simply twist it tightly once the hair is in a tight twist bring the hair up to the back of the head and pin it up.  It is a simple and elegant look that takes no time at all to achieve.  Another great updo for medium hair is a curly updo.  To get this look you simply use a curling iron or hot rollers to add curl to your hair, if it is straight, if not use a styling product to enhance your already natural curls.  Pull your hair back and pin it up allowing some of the curls to hang softly to add volume and the appearance of an easy relaxed look.

There are a lot of great accessories that will compliment your medium updo.  You can find rhinestone bobby pins, which will add a bit of glamour to your look.  You can use special combs or clips which will allow you to put your hair up and enhance the look you are going for.  And last but not least remember the best accessory of all, hairspray.  Hairspray is a great tool to keep your hair in place once it’s been pined up.  The goal of the medium updo is to help you accomplish your desired look for the day or evening.  Updos can be both elegant and edgy.  So have fun with the look you are going for.
