Clip In Hair Extensions – Human Hair Extensions

Posted by Hair Styles

clip in hair extensionsClip In Hair Extensions – Human Hair Extensions

There are many reasons why people will use clip in hair extensions. Whether they use the clip in extensions to add volume to their hair or just to try a different color for the purpose of seeing if they like that color, they will find hair extensions to be useful.

One of the issues you have to watch out for with clip in hair extensions is that you will need to place the clip as close to your hair line as possible. If you are using the clip in hair extension to add color to your hair, its even more important to get the clip as close to your hair line as possible to hide the clip itself. If you are using a clip in hair extension that is the same as your normal hair color then you can add it almost anywhere to make your hair look longer or fuller, as long as you still hide the clip.

If you are going to be doing your hair in a special style such as an updo hairstyle, then be sure to clip in the hair extension as you will want the extra hair to blend in with your actual hair. If you style your hair down, you can add the clip in hair extension at any time as you will not have to blend the hair in with the rest of your actual hair.

If you have curly hair, clip in hair extensions will still work. You will just want to make sure to match the current curl of your hair so that they blend in well with you already curled hairstyle.

These hair extensions tend to come long, but you can trim them to match your current hair style. The main purpose for short hair extensions is to add volume to your hair, while long hair extensions is for the purpose of making your hair look longer than it actually is.

How You Can Improve Your Micro Braids

Posted by Hair Styles

black micro braidsHow You Can Improve Your Micro Braids

Micro braids are fun and unique and they last a long time. These braids take a long time however to be braided into your hair. Micro means ‘small’ and so these very small braids make it easy for you to do whatever you want with your hair. As your regular hair grows out these micro braids will start to look bad as the new hair growth will be noticeable next to the micro braids. If you do not take care of these braids they can actually damage your hair or cause you to lose some hair volume. Your hair will grow back but having micro braids will still cause some damage.

It is necessary to wash your hair frequently, rubbing the scalp between the braids. Micro braids will keep your hair tightly together making it harder to wash the hair and your scalp. Its important to use dandruff shampoo rather than regular shampoo because it will help with the dryness these micro braids will cause. Another good tip is to find a ‘leave in conditioner’ and use it frequently to help with your braids. This alone will help your braids last longer and keep them looking nicer, longer.

Its important to try to not style your hair so much. By not styling your hair you will not be moving the braids around too much. The use of a blow dryer will also damage your braids and cause your hair to become frizzy. When you first get micro braids you will want to take it easy for the first few days, to get used to the feeling of the braids. Having pain during the process does not mean you are damaging your hair, as with micro braids you will feel lots of tension as your hair is being pulled tight to make the braid. Having pressure on your head is not a bad thing, as it will go away after a few days, or after the hair grows out from your scalp a little more.

You can also buy a moisturizing spray from your local salon to help keep your hair moist and from drying out because of the micro braids. Just be sure you do not over do the spraying.

If you have any questions about improving your micro braids please “Ask The Hairstylist”  a question and we will post the answer here.

How To Make A Pretty Hairstyle

how to make a pretty hairstyleHow To Make A Pretty Hairstyle

Having a bad hair day can ruin a good day. It happens to all of us, our hair just does not want to work well or to style and stay in place. Even when we use enough product our hair just does its own thing. As we grow up, one of the things we learn in life is how to do our own hair and to make it look good. The more time you spend on your hair the better it will look, but how can you take your ordinary hair and make it look like a new hairstyle and especially look pretty?

For one, it takes time and if you are in a hurry there are fast styles you can do, such as a messy look. In today’s world, messy hair is a style that is catching on, so even if you are having a bad hair day, its most likely no one will even notice but yourself. Short hair that is straightened and combed towards the face is one of the cutest styles for men, but is also catching on for girls. For short to medium length hair, a pretty hairstyle is to have it layered out with the ends wisped outward. This is easily done by using some hairspray and a flat iron.

With medium length hair you can always clip the bangs back towards the back of your head and either keep the rest of your hair straight using a flat iron or you can curl it. Some people like to have a few curls mixed in with the straight hair to give it a little more texture. Longer hair styles look nicest when it has layers. You can add your own flair or flat iron to wisp out the layers or you can have them fall towards your face, rather than away from it.

If you have any questions about how to make a pretty hairstyle, then please “Ask The Hairstylist” a question and we will post the answer here.

Ways To Put Your Hair Up – Hair Up Dos

Posted by Hair Styles

ponytail hair up do styleWays To Put Your Hair Up – Hair Up Dos

There are many reasons why girls put their hair up: to keep their hair out of their face, they ran out of time to style it, to look nice or have a formal hair style such as, a wedding, prom or dance hairstyle. There are a few hair up dos you can do from home.

  • The classic ponytail is the most popular style to put your hair up. The main reason for this style is to keep the hair out of the girls face, for sports or because she does not want to mess with styling her hair right then. It is easy to do, by sweeping all of your hair to the back of your head as high on your head as you want and then securing it in place with an elastic band of some type.
  • A loose bun is not as popular but it’s a hairstyle women tend to wear when they are in the mood to relax. All you do is put your hair up in a ponytail like before but twist it into a loose bun and add a head band to have your casual, relaxed hairstyle.
  • The last style would be a more formal hair updo. Usually this is done with help from a professional stylist, a friend or family member and sometimes takes longer to finish. You pull your hair back and put a bump in your hair on the top of the head, while sweeping it back into a clip. You will have to use some kind of product such as, hairspray to hold this style in place. There are accessories you can buy such as ‘Bump-its’ to help keep your hair in place.

Another style would be to add to the existing ponytail by adding the French braid, which is like the normal braid but only starting at the top of your head.
