Micro Braids HairstylesMicro Braiding is a wonderful hair styling technique.  But be sure you know what you are getting yourself into.  There are many different types of “micro” braiding.  There are micro twists, micro curly, and micro rope to name a few.  Deciding which technique depends on how long you want to keep the braids.

Micro braids are smaller then traditional braids and are done by taking minute pieces of hair and adding them with a hair braiding weave and then braiding them together.  Many people consider this hair technique low maintenance but many think differently.

Micro braids require care before, during and after the braiding process to ensure the best result possible.  Because the braids are so small hair can easily be damaged or even fall out.  So be sure that your hair is not brittle.  Because the micro braids are so tight, they need to be well taken care of. Make sure to deep condition your hair before you have micro braids put in your hair.  While you are having your hair braided make that they are not too tight if you feel pain ask the braider to loosen them until you feel comfortable. Once your braids are in be sure to use a braid spray daily to keep your hair moisturized.   Micro braids can be worn for up to two months but a shorter time period may be best so as to damage hair too much.

Micro braiding is a fun way to change up traditional braids.  These braids look very nice when they are done well and can give you many different kinds of looks.  Have fun trying the various types of twists, braids and curls.
