A Hairstyle For Long Face Shapes

If you have a long face shape you may know that finding the right style for your face shape can be difficult.  When choosing a hairstyle for your face shape there are a few things you will want to avoid such as extremely long or short hair cuts, short layers, and straight blunt bangs.

If you have a long face shape and have a short hair cut, the shortness of your hair cut will make your long face appear even longer than it really is.  The same is true with short layers, short layers create volume and fullness at the top of your head and this too will create the appearance of an even longer face shape than you actually have.

The next is a medium length choppy hairstyle.  This hairstyle creates texture and volume in all the right places for a long face shape.  By adding some texture to your hair you will help create the appearance of a wider face than you actually have.  You may also choose to have a side swept bang with this cut.  This too will help give the appearance of a wider face and therefore lessen the length of your face shape.  Be careful not to go overboard with the bangs as too much will have the opposite effect and create more volume and lengthen of your face.

What You Can Do With Short Hair

Depending on how short your hair is, there are quite a few different things that can be done with it other than the basic straightening.  If your hair is really short, for example, cut in a pixie cut, then most likely you would only be able to straighten it.  You may however be able to use a hair wax or pomade and create some edgy chunks to create a messy style, or you may choose to use that same wax or pomade to create a super sleek hairstyle.

If your short hair is a bit longer say down to you jaw line you can try a few different things.  First you could try to use hot rollers to create some nice curls in your hair.  This look can be very fun if you want to change your hairstyle only for the night.  You can create a soft messy look with soft curls that will add volume and bounce in your hair.  The other option you may want to try is straightening your hair, which will create a nice sleek hairstyle.  If your hair is wavy or curly this option can change your hairstyle dramatically.

Depending on your hair texture there are many styling products you can use to also change the look of your short hair.  Try using a mousse if you have curly or wavy hair to help enhance your wave or curl.  A wax or pomade could be used if you want to try a sleek hairstyle or if you want to create some edgy pieces in your hair.  Have fun experimenting, even though you have short hair there are many things you can try to change up your look.

Color For Cute Short Haircuts For Females

Coloring your hair is a great way to add an element of class or flair to your cute short haircut.  There are many advantages to adding color to your short hairstyle.  You may want to just brighten your look by adding a few highlights to your hair or you may choose to add a bold color to create a dramatic flair.

If you want to create a classic short hairstyle using color ask your stylist to add subtle highlights to your hair.  Your stylist will use foils to create a nice highlight which will brighten up your short hair and give you a very classy look.  If you want to try an edgy look you could opt to have your stylist put a bold bright color in your hair.  You may want to try a chunky highlight, where your stylist will add bigger chunks of color to your hair this will create a bold “chunks” of color, rather than small pieces which creates a more subtle look.
