Style An Updo For Your Short Hair

Using a few simple techniques will help you create a knock out updo with your short hair.  The first idea is to create volume in your hair.  To do this you can try back combing your hair to create lift that will be needed in forming the updo.  The next is adding products to your hair to help get extra lift too.  By using a styling product and back combing your hair you will give your short hair the lift it needs to create the updo.  The last option that you can try is adding a few hair extensions in your hair.  This will change the look of your hair drastically, but will be a great assistance in creating an updo.  Hair extensions are a wonderful accessory to creating a great updo.

What You Can Do With Short Hair

Depending on how short your hair is, there are quite a few different things that can be done with it other than the basic straightening.  If your hair is really short, for example, cut in a pixie cut, then most likely you would only be able to straighten it.  You may however be able to use a hair wax or pomade and create some edgy chunks to create a messy style, or you may choose to use that same wax or pomade to create a super sleek hairstyle.

If your short hair is a bit longer say down to you jaw line you can try a few different things.  First you could try to use hot rollers to create some nice curls in your hair.  This look can be very fun if you want to change your hairstyle only for the night.  You can create a soft messy look with soft curls that will add volume and bounce in your hair.  The other option you may want to try is straightening your hair, which will create a nice sleek hairstyle.  If your hair is wavy or curly this option can change your hairstyle dramatically.

Short Hairstyles For Curly Hair

When hair is naturally curly it makes it harder to style as you will find problems with it being too fluffy or frizzy or even too flat. With curly hair it sits thick and heavy on the head and during the summer months can make it uncomfortable, so here are a few tips for short hairstyles with curly hair.

One of the best things you can do with your curly hair is to have it layered. Layering your hair will help thin it out rather than shortening it up and leaving it not feeling too heavy and hot. If you cut curly hair when its straight you must be careful to not cut too much hair otherwise you will be in for a huge surprise when your hair goes back to being curly. Not only will it look much shorter, you might not like it as much as you did before. When you layer the hair in a bob cut, the layers will make it look thinner and less frizzy. If you have problems with frizzy hair you can always buy anti-frizz shampoo and conditioners. They even have products you can spray in your hair to help with the frizz control.

With curly hair you can always leave it naturally curled or you can always straighten it with a flat iron. Not only is this a completely different look, you might shock people who are used to seeing you with curly hair but it also takes a long time to straighten the hair and only takes a little bit of water on the hair before it goes back to being curly. There are products you can use to help keep your hair straight for a longer period of time than the first time you wash it. You can try a hair relaxer to create your straight hair and leave it or let the hair wave a little bit, which is also a popular and good looking hairstyle.
